Lost foam casting, also named as evaporative pattern casting(EPC), is known as the green casting technology in 2st century due to its high dimensional accuracy, smooth surface and low pollution these advantages. Lost foam casting technology (EPC or LFC) is to use foam plastic to make a solid shape that is exactly the same as the part structure and size. It is dipped and coated with refractory bonding paint, dried and then molded with dry sand, vibrated and compacted, and then poured The molten metal vaporizes and disappears the pattern by heating, and obtains a casting method for metal parts with the same shape as the pattern. Lost foam casting is a new technology with nearly no margin and precise forming. It does not need to close the box to take the mold, and uses binder-free dry sand to reduce pollution.
The production of lost foam casting moulding line is generally divided into three sections: "white area", "yellow area" and "black area". The "white area" is the pattern part, the main production equipment is: pre-foaming machine, molding machine, cutting machine, bonding machine, etc. The "yellow area" is the paint coating and drying part, the main production equipment is: paint preparation machine, paint mixer, pattern dip coating machine, pattern drying room, etc.The "black zone" is the moulding system, the pouring system, the sand reclamation system, and the casting shot blasting system.
